Sarens is proudly collaborating with client Callik Enerji on an important plant expansion project in the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan. The Talimarjan Combined Cycle Power Plant is undergoing expansion and upgrade work to increase its power supply, with two more combined cycle plants being added to achieve a total capacity of at least 900 MW.
As part of this work, Sarens will be lifting several heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) and other modules weighing up to 258 tonnes and measuring up to 125 metres.
Sarens engineers worked closely with the client to develop a lifting plan and advise on appropriate cranes for the project, including:
The Manitowoc crane was sent to the site via rail. The other equipment was transported via low bed trailers relying on over 30 different routes. It then took four riggers between one day and two weeks to assemble the various pieces of equipment.
The cranes, operated by two crane operators, will remain on site for 12 months. Sarens’ involvement in this multi-stage operation began in early 2024 and will continue into 2025, when we look forward to completing this project safely, smoothly, and successfully!
