Sarens in Poland, also know as Sarens Polska, achieved remarkable recognition at the Konkurs Giganci Transportu 2024 awards ceremony. Held on June 7th at the prestigious Hotel Warszawianka in Jachranka, the event celebrated excellence in the transport industry. Sarens Polska was honoured with two awards in the following categories: Oversize Transport with Load Weight Over 120Tand Crane Service with Load Weight Over 250T.
Oversize Transport with Load Weight Over 120T
Sarens Polska's first accolade was for their exceptional transport of the decommissioned Polish submarine, ORP Sokół. This massive undertaking involved moving the 380-ton submarine, which measures 45 meters in length, 8 meters in width, and 5 meters in height, from the port of Gdynia to the Polish Navy Museum. The challenging task was executed using 32 axle Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs).
Navigating the narrow spaces of the Bulwar Nadmorski in Gdynia, the Sarens team demonstrated exceptional skill and precision. The route, which posed numerous logistical challenges, was meticulously planned and executed, ensuring the safe and successful delivery of the submarine to its new home. This project not only showcased Sarens Polska's technical expertise but also our ability to manage complex operations under demanding conditions.
Crane Service with Load Weight Over 250T
The second award recognised Sarens Polska's prowess in heavy lifting. The project involved the lift and preparation for installation of a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) cutter head. Weighing an impressive 450 tons and boasting a diameter of 14 meters, the cutter head presented a formidable challenge.
Our Sarens Polska's team utilised their advanced crane capabilities to manoeuvre the massive cutter head with precision and efficiency. This complex operation highlighted the company’s commitment to safety and excellence, reinforcing Sarens’s reputation as industry leaders in heavy lifting and transport services.
